Have you always loved the look of a scalloped border but hesitated trying it yourself? This class will show you how to make a simple scalloped border on a table topper. You will learn to measure and mark scallops, cut bias binding as well as how to apply single or double fold binding to finish the project. Pre-assembly of a small quilted topper is required (pattern provided with supply list). You will be ready to hand stitch the binding down before you leave.  Intermediate Level: Students need to have rotary cutting, binding and general quilt assembly experience.

Scalloping Basics
Looking for something fun to do with a charm pack or two? This the project for you! One simple block creates an interesting secondary pattern. This is an interesting technique to get the frames around the blocks that involves optional bonus half-square triangles. You can use the bonus triangles for another project. Pre-cutting required so we can get right to stitching!
Chatter Box
September 17th and 18th 2010
September 18th 2010
These beautiful fabrics that are designed using a striped motif,  have curved or straight line stripes and are mixed with lovely floral and novelty characters.  Many times these fabrics are overlooked for quilt making because they are hard to coordinate with other fabrics or because the stripes may be filled with too many elements that look difficult to use.  Make unique quilts with the freedom of working without a pattern once you learn the process.
This one-fabric process provides more time for quilters to make more quilts.  Time is saved in several ways.  Cutting is quick and efficient.  You can eliminate the time it takes to shop for special tools or for coordinating fabrics.  You don’t have to shop again when you discover you are half a yard short of particular fabric needed to finish a quilt
Pattern required for class, kits available
September 17th and 18th 2010
